National Ice Cream Day - July 21st
Count me in for holidays like this ! With National Ice Cream Day around the corner and with temperatures rising in my neck of the woods, I found the perfect inspiration to stay cool and paint.
The DC- MD- VA is experiencing summer at its peak and it is sweltering heat. Summer feels like it is here to stay . The last few days have been a scorcher.
Watercolor illustration of the Washington Monument and Ice Cream
As someone who prefers cooler weather, surprisingly I haven't complained a lot . I tend to do that a lot when it is unbearably hot !
As a way to cope with the heat , I have made sure to cool off with refreshing watermelons, cantaloupes , home made lemonade , newly discovered mocktail recipes and yes, ice cream . I have been painting more ice creams than I have been eating them - one way to keep the calories away !
Most of these images were illustrated using watercolors , markers and pen. The one with the woman holding different flavors of ice cream was illustrated on Procreate app on the iPad.
